This is the view on the other side of what was once Naul's Mill Dam, by 1907 it was just the Radford Brook causing the blockage shown. The brook is clearly shown in the front of this photograph. It was removed in 1909 when Naul's Mill Park was completed and Radford Street was joined up with the existing Middleborough Road and adopted that name. In 1895 the inhabitants of the then Middleborough Street requested a change of name from Street to Road which was accepted by the council. The street had been created by Charles Bray, the ribbon manufacturer and social reformer, in 1859 as a new development leading from Radford Road.
