Coventry University makes no claim of copyright on items coming into Coventry Digital. Copyright ownership remains with the owner. We are providing a platform to archive items and for these items to be available for re-use (either commercial or non-commercial use).

However, we do reserve the right to publish the material on the archive and Coventry Atlas without recompense to the copyright owner. This simply put is the permission given by the copyright owner for us to host their data and present it to the public.

Note: It is important to put the name of the copyright owner in two places in the asset metadata; please complete the ‘Copyright’ and ‘Creator’ fields. This distinction is necessary should the owner wish to generate income from the item, as within the Capture system it is the ‘Creator’ field that is used to identify the payees.
