GDPR

GDPR (data protection)

Please refer to the  User Privacy Notice and Terms and Conditions first. This section is an overview.

GDPR needs to be understood as being relevant to the copyright owner as well as safeguarding data subjects who are identifiable within assets. This particularly applies where personal data are concerned, which includes, but is not limited to, names, email addresses, faces, voices and political affiliation.

You can find out more about how Coventry University handles the personal data of users and user’s rights under Data Protection legislation within our User Privacy Notice, a copy of which can be found in the website footer as well as the help pages. It is important that you read the User Privacy Notice, as it will tell you what personal data is collected from users, why we collect it, what we do with it and who we may share it with.

The National Archive has provided a very useful guide on matters of data protection which you might find useful.

If you have any queries or concerns in respect of data protection, we need to refer to colleagues in the Information Governance Unit at Coventry University for advice. Please go via Ben Kyneswood for this.
